Everynone make films about everyone by focusing on none. But sound is the real star of the story.

 

You have probably already seen a few films by Everynone and not known it. The series of artful promos they created for Radiolab are Vimeo mainstays.

The trio of filmmakers – comprised of Will Hoffman, Daniel Mercadante, and Julius Metoyer III – are masters of finding the truth in their shots.

In the case of of their Radiolab shorts, moreso than in anything they’ve done since, truth is anchored in their use of natural sound.

Leading ad industry magazine Creativity ran a profile piece on the filmmaking collective that highlighted their unique approach:

[Everynone] use sound in an extremely evocative way, cutting down background noise to bring out richness of texture and tone that highlights the story behind spoken words.
