Hacks

The current state of video editing requires elastic thinking.

No edit is the same.  There are a plethora of source formats that have to be corralled, transcoded and sorted.  This is done using an ever mutating array of software and hardware.  This then has to be delivered to a varied and ever-growing army of screens.

To keep up with this ever growing demand, video editors have to think beyond the typical post workflows.  There are many great industry tools to help us work better.  But there is also overlooked popular technology that can redefine how we edit.

It is time for a new kind of creativity.  A creativity beyond the the frame and the timeline.  A creativity in how we manage our media and manage our time.  Flexible improvisation is at the heart of Splice Vine.
