This month Robert Pratten, author of Getting Started in Transmedia Storytelling: A Practical Guide for Beginners, talks about this multi-platform storytelling movement. 
Robert is a marketing consultant with more than 20 years experience and has been an internationally recognized expert in the field of Intelligent Networks having advised clients such as Ericsson and Lucent. He has since written, produced and directed two award-winning, critically acclaimed feature films – London Voodoo and Mindflesh.
We will also be bringing you an audio podcast every week, where we talk about the Whisperer’s origin story and unique perspective.
WEEK 1: How did you get started in transmedia?
Robert talks about how he made his first two features, and how Transmedia Storytelling allowed him to combine his passions of directing and marketing.
WEEK 2: What were the big ‘aha’ moments or memorable projects for you?
Robert talks about Henry Jenkin’s landmark book, Convergence Culture, games vs films, takethislolipop, the seduction of RPGs and the interactivity addiction.
WEEK 3: What 3 pieces of advice do you have for people starting out in Transmedia?
He advises people to start simple and with what you know, develop your story before you develop your story world and to just do something.
WEEK 4: What does the future hold for Transmedia Storytelling?
Robert talks about how he believes the future will be more connected and personalized, fictional and real worlds will be more blurred and we will continue to see the crucifixion of mediocrity.
