Splice Vine: Reloaded 04/10/11
Welcome to the revamped Splice Vine.
So what is Splice Vine?
I think of it as a place for elastic thinking. Or more specifically, a place where video editors can re-imagine workflow. We’ll explore using non-obvious tools and processes. By non-obvious I don’t mean far-fetched like trying to rope a steer with dental floss. I mean using existing and emerging technology to augment our existing ways of working.
A lot of editors are using these tools already. DropBox. Evernote. Google Docs. iPhone. Wikis. These sites, apps and devices give us subtle and in many cases significant improvements in how we edit. By incorporating these technologies in a systematic way we can better manage the increasing demands of a rapidly changing post environment.
- The Home page will be a frequently updated blog about post from the Splice Vine perspective.
- The Hacks section will be an evergreen section of new media workflows sorted by difficulty level (beginner / intermediate / advanced).
- The Tools section will be links to edit helpers sorted by type (creative / technical / organizational).
Give me your feedback in the comments section and feel free to submit tools.
And if you want to know more about me, then check out my work. I’ll be at NAB all week trying to find more useful resources for the Vine. In the meantime, hit me up on Twitter or Facebook and don’t forget to signup for the free e-newsletter.
